Albatussin DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. this combination medication is used to treat cough associated with the common cold, allergies & other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Albatussin DM: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase your dose or take this more many times than directed. Capsules & long-acting meds must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed and chance of side effects will be increased.

Albatussin DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur 1'st several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your healthcare professional. Notify some your doctor if you develop any of these effects while taking this drug: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if it pill makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or doctor.

Albatussin DM Precautions: Tell youre pharmacist you're medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with some your healthcare professional. since small amounts of this drug are found in breast milk, consult you're physician before breast-feeding.

Albatussin DM pill interactions: Tell you're physician of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.

Albatussin DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

Albatussin DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Albatussin DM dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if this is near the time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Albatussin DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in bathroom.
