Histussin D Usage: it drug has a decongestant which relieves nasal stuffiness & a narcotic antitussive used to suppress a cough. it combination med is used to treat symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Histussin D: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. it medication is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack.

Histussin D side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, constipation, nausea or stomach upset may occur the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify youre pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, tremors, nervousness, mental confusion, breathing trouble. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if it medication causes you to feel drowsy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or doctor.

Histussin D Precautions: Tell some your doctor you're medical history, especially of: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, depression, history of drug dependency, allergies (especially medication allergies). this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre physician. since small amounts of this medication found in breast milk, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

Histussin D drug interactions: Tell you're doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take including: medication for blood pressure, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, cimetidine. Limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this drug. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.

Histussin D Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, numbness and tingling of hands and feet, irregular heartbeat, weakness, drowsiness, slow or shallow breathing, or unconsciousness.

Histussin D special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it tablet. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Histussin D dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; don't take this if it is near time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Histussin D Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
