Guaifenesin/dextromethorphan/decongestant - oral

Albatussin Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination drug is used to treat a cough & relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Albatussin: it drug is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets & capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because long action will be destroyed and the chance of side effects will be increased. Take this tablet as prescribed. do not increase you're dose or take this more often than directed.
Albatussin side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Albatussin Precautions: Tell your doctor some your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any medication allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your healthcare professional promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. it drug may be excreted into breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Albatussin drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription and nonprescription medications you use, especially: med for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Albatussin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss about coordination, unusual movements of eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change at behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, big pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Albatussin special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Albatussin dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; don't take it if it is near clock for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Albatussin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in bathroom.
