Tussafed Ex Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination medication is used to treat a cough & relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Tussafed Ex: this drug is best taken with a full glass of water after a meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets & capsules whole. don't crush or chew them because long action will be destroyed & chance of side effects will be increased. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase youre dose or take this more often then directed.
Tussafed Ex side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your pharmacist. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre pharmacist or physician.
Tussafed Ex Precautions: Tell you're physician some your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, hypertension, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any drug allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain it product has PPA. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. it drug may be excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Tussafed Ex medication interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription medications you use, especially: medication for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it medication. do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Tussafed Ex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss about coordination, unusual movements about the eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Tussafed Ex special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Tussafed Ex dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
Tussafed Ex Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
