Gua C Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous & congestion. Codeine is used to quiet a cough. this combination medication is used to control cough & congestion associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Gua C: Take this medication with food if stomach upset occurs. Take it medication as directed. do not increase the dose or take this more often or longer than prescribed. this is strong cough medication & must only be used for the condition & by people for which Its prescribed. this shouldnot be used for just any cough. it is helpful to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.
Gua C side effects: Drowsiness, constipation, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, dizziness or headache may occur the 1'st some days as your body adjusts to drug. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your healthcare professional. Notify some your pharmacist if you develop: skin rash, itching, rapid heart rate. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Gua C Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), substance abuse, allergies (especially to narcotics). Because this tablet can cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. for it isnt known if this drug is found in breast milk; consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Gua C drug interactions: Tell youre doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: sedatives, tranquilizers, narcotic pain relievers, sleeping pills, seizure med, muscle relaxants, medications for depression, cimetidine, quinidine. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.
Gua C Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slowed breathing, drowsiness, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, cold & clammy skin, dry mouth, & slow pulse.
Gua C special notes: do not share it product with others.
If you missed Gua C dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost clock for next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' doses.
Gua C Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture and heat. do not store in bathroom.
