Evoxac Usage: this medication is used to treat the symptom of dry mouth in patients with Sjogren's Syndrome. Cevimeline increases the activity of glands in mouth & skin (e.g., salivary and sweat glands).
Evoxac can be used also for: this medication may also be used for dry mouth symptoms due to other causes.
How to use Evoxac: this medication is taken by mouth, usually three times day. this may be taken with or without food but is best absorbed on an empty stomach. If unusual sweating occurs while taking it med, drink extra water throughout day & consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Evoxac side effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive sweating, rash, headache, runny nose, cough, drowsiness, hot flashes, blurred vision, or trouble sleeping may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify you're doctor. Tell you're pharmacist immediately if you have any of these serious side effects: trouble breathing, fever, sore throat, painful or frequent urination, unusual joint or muscle pain. Tell some your doctor immediately if you have any of these unlikely but serious side effects: chest pain, irregular heartbeat, easy bruising or bleeding, yellowing eyes or skin, stomach pain, mental/mood changes. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your healthcare professional or physician.
Evoxac Precautions: Tell youre doctor you're medical history, including: allergies, liver or heart disease, breathing problems (e.g., asthma, bronchitis, COPD), eye problems (e.g., glaucoma, acute iritis), kidney stones, gall bladder problems (gall stones). this drug may make you dizzy or cause vision problems; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery especially at night or in poor light. Caution is advised when using this med in elderly because they may be more sensitive to effects of the drug. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with youre physician. it is not known whether it drug passes into breast milk. Because of potential risk to infant, breast-feeding while using it drug isn't recommended. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Evoxac medication interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about all prescription & nonprescription medication you use, especially of: beta-blockers (e.g., propranolol, metoprolol), SSRI antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine, paroxetine,), amiodarone, quinidine, indinavir, haloperidol, terbinafine, ticlopidine. do not start or stop any medicine with out physician or pharmacist approval.
Evoxac Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include irregular heartbeat, severe diarrhea, nausea, sweating, vision changes.
Evoxac special notes: do not share it medication with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor you're progress.
If you missed Evoxac dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near time about next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't double dose to catch up.
Evoxac Storage: Store at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from light & moisture. Brief storage between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) is permitted.
