Cascara Sagrada Usage: Irritant or stimulant laxatives are used to treat constipation & to clear the intestine before rectal or bowel examinations.

How to use Cascara Sagrada: Take each dose with full glass of water or juice and drink plenty of fluids while taking this drug. Chewable pills are to be chewed thoroughly. pills are to be swallowed whole with full glass of water. Wafers to be chewed. Laxatives should not be used in persons experiencing stomach cramps, nausea or vomiting.

Cascara Sagrada side effects: this medication may cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rectal irritation, stomach cramps or bloating. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: rectal bleeding, rapid heart rate, weakness, dizziness, fainting, sweating, skin rash, unrelieved constipation. it medication may cause urine to turn pink, red or brownish in color. don't be alarmed. it isn't harmful. Prolonged, frequent or excessive use of laxatives may lead to dependency. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or pharmacist.

Cascara Sagrada Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, swelling (edema), any allergies (especially to tartrazine). Castor oil isn't recommended for use during pregnancy. Bulk producing laxatives an alternative. Discuss risks & benefits with your physician. Consult your physician before using any medication while breast-feeding.

Cascara Sagrada drug interactions: Because laxatives may interfere with the absorption of some medications, It's important to tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take. Avoid the use of dairy goods or antacids within one hour of taking bisacodyl pills. do not start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.

Cascara Sagrada Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, muscle cramps, weakness, lack of feeling alert, or dry gums & eyes.

Cascara Sagrada special notes: To maintain normal bowel habits, It's important to drink plenty of fluids (4 to 6 eight ounce glasses day), increase some your intake about fiber and roughage and exercise regularly.

If you missed Cascara Sagrada dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near clock for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
