Guaifenesin/dextromethorphan/decongestant - oral
P Ephedrine Guaifen DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination tablet is used to treat cough & relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use P Ephedrine Guaifen DM: this med is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets & capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because long action will be destroyed and chance of side effects will be increased. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed.
P Ephedrine Guaifen DM side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, inform you're pharmacist. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
P Ephedrine Guaifen DM Precautions: Tell you're pharmacist your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any drug allergies. cash it product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. this tablet should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. this drug may be excreted into breast milk. Consult you're physician before breast-feeding.
P Ephedrine Guaifen DM drug interactions: Tell your doctor of all prescription & nonprescription drugs you use, especially: drug for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it med. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
P Ephedrine Guaifen DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, big pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
P Ephedrine Guaifen DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed P Ephedrine Guaifen DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take this if it is near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
P Ephedrine Guaifen DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in the bathroom.
