    Antibacterials - ophthalmic, otic

    Romycin Usage: this medication is used to treat infections of the eye (ophthalmic) or ear (otic).

    How to use Romycin: Use it as prescribed. Continue using this for full time prescribed. Stopping therapy too soon may result in reinfection. To apply eye or ear pill, wash hands 1'st. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper or tube or let it touch affected area. Shake drops well before using. Hold the ointment tube in your hand for few minutes to make the tablet flow easier. EYE medication: Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down lower eyelid to make pouch. for drops, place dropper directly over eye and administer the prescribed number about drops. see downward and gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. With eye ointment, place tablet inside lower lid using sweeping motion. Close eye & roll eyeball. Remove excess ointment with a tissue. Try not to blink & do not rub the eye. If you are using another kind of eye medication, wait five to ten minutes before applying. EAR tablet: Lie on some your side or turn affected ear upward to make application easier. Place the prescribed number of drops in the ear. Avoid touching the ear canal. Keep the ear tilted for one to two minutes. small piece of clean cotton may be placed in the ear to prevent drops from escaping.

    Romycin side effects: this medication may temporarily sting when 1-st applied. If this effect persists or worsens, inform your doctor promptly. in unlikely series you have an allergic reaction to it tablet, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, redness, swelling or discharge (including the eye or ear area), trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're healthcare professional or pharmacist.

    Romycin Precautions: Tell your doctor youre medical history, especially: all previous eye or ear problems, if you use contact lenses, any allergies. Vision may be temporarily blurred after applying eye drug. Use caution driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. it & all medications should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy or when breast-feeding. Consult with you're doctor if you pregnant or breast-feeding.

    Romycin drug interactions: Tell youre doctor about every tablets you may use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: silver preparations, all other eye or ear antibiotic or corticosteroid (e.g., hydrocortisone) drugs. don't start or stop any medicine without physician or healthcare professional approval.

    Romycin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. it medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Romycin special notes: Throw away any unused series of your prescription. do not save this to use since another infection. do not allow anyone else to use this medication. infection may spread to another person if you accidentally contaminate medication.

    If you missed Romycin dose: If you miss dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not use if Its almost time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    Romycin Storage: Depending upon the manufacturer, the product may be stored at room temperature or refrigerated. Ask your pharmacist. do not store in the bathroom. don't freeze.
