    Chlorpromazine concentrate - oral

    Chlorpromazine HCL Usage: Chlorpromazine is used to treat symptoms of certain types of mental or emotional conditions. It's also used to control hiccups, reduce anxiety & treat nausea & vomiting.

    How to use Chlorpromazine HCL: Take with food or milk if stomach upset occurs, unless directed otherwise. liquid concentrate must be measured carefully & diluted (mixed) with two ounces (60ml) or more of water, milk, juice, coffee, tea or carbonated beverage. it can be mixed into applesauce or pudding. Take immediately after diluting. do not suddenly stop taking this drug without first consulting your healthcare professional. in the treatment of mental or emotional conditions, it may take up to two weeks for full effects of this medication to be noticed.

    Chlorpromazine HCL side effects: Constipation, drowsiness, vision changes or dry mouth may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: restlessness, muscle stiffness, weakness, difficulty speaking, loss of balance, mask- like facial expression, trembling or shaking, dizziness, lip smacking or another uncontrollable movements, difficulty urinating, skin rash/discoloration. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly: sore throat, unusual bleeding or bruising, stomach pain, yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, hot dry skin, vomiting. Though very unlikely to occur, notify youre pharmacist immediately if you experience any of the following effects: severe muscle stiffness, confusion, fever, seizures, irregular/fast heartbeat, increased sweating, prolonged or painful erection. in unlikely episode you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Chlorpromazine HCL Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially of: very high or very low blood pressure, liver or heart disease, Reye's syndrome, alcohol or drug dependencies, nervous system problems, blood disorders, allergies (especially med allergies). Use caution performing tasks that require alertness, such as driving or using machinery. Use of alcohol can cause extreme drowsiness. Avoid alcohol consumption. this medication may increase sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid prolonged sun exposure & wear a sunscreen and protective clothing when you exposed to sun. it medication can reduce sweating making you more susceptible to heat stroke. Avoid strenuous work or exercise in hot weather. the manufacturer of this drug does not recommend it is use during pregnancy. However, it may be used in certain cases. Discuss risks and benefits with some your physician. Chlorpromazine is excreted into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on nursing infant. Consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.

    Chlorpromazine HCL drug interactions: Inform your doctor about all the medications you may use (both prescription and nonprescription) especially if you take: anti-depressants/anti-anxiety drugs, drugs used for an overactive thyroid, sparfloxacin, grepafloxacin, guanethidine, guanadrel, metrizamide, cabergoline, beta-blockers (e.g., propranolol), lithium, beta-blockers (e.g., propranolol), narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine), tablets used to aid sleep, drowsiness-causing antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), other drugs that may make you drowsy. many cough-and-cold products contain ingredients that may add drowsiness effect. Before using cough-and-cold drugs, ask your doctor or pharmacist about the safe use about those products. do not start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.

    Chlorpromazine HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include restlessness, muscle spasms, tremors, twitching, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, and seizures.

    Chlorpromazine HCL special notes: do not share it medication with others.

    If you missed Chlorpromazine HCL dose: If you miss a dose and take 1 dose daily: take as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for the next dose. at that case, skip missed dose & resume you're usual schedule. If you take more than 1 dose daily: take as soon as possible if It's within an hour or so of missed dose. If not remembered within an hour, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.

    Chlorpromazine HCL Storage: Store at room temperature away from moisture & light. do not store at bathroom. Keep at original bottle.
