Cartia Xt Usage: Diltiazem is calcium channel blocker. Calcium is involved in blood vessel contraction & in controlling the electrical impulses within the heart. By blocking calcium, diltiazem relaxes & widens blood vessels & can normalize heartbeats. Diltiazem is used to treat chest pain (angina) or HBP.

Cartia Xt canbe used also for: this drug may also be used to treat irregular heartbeats.

How to use Cartia Xt: capsules may be taken with-out regard to meals once daily in the morning. Swallow whole. do not open, chew or crush the capsule. don't stop taking this drug suddenly with-out some your doctor's permission. your dose may need to be gradually decreased.

Cartia Xt side effects: it drug may cause dizziness and lightheadedness especially during the 1'st few days. Avoid activities requiring alertness. When you sit or lie down for while, get up slowly to allow your body to adjust & minimize dizziness. You may also experience bloating, heartburn, muscle cramps, headache, flushing, nasal congestion, sore throat, constipation, or diarrhea. Inform your healthcare professional if they become bothersome. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: breathing difficulties, swelling of the hands or feet, an irregular heartbeat. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your doctor or healthcare professional.

Cartia Xt Precautions: Tell you're healthcare professional your medical history, especially: heart disease, liver disease, lung disease, any allergies. Limit intake of alcohol while taking this drug. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with you're healthcare professional. this med is excreted into breast milk. If theyre is no alternative to using it drug you should discontinue breast-feeding. Consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.

Cartia Xt pill interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: cyclosporine, flecainide, beta-blockers (including eye drops), intravenous (IV) calcium, digoxin, lithium, disopyramide, HBP medication, benzodiazepines (e.g., midazolam, triazolam), buspirone, lovastatin, quinidine, rifampin, carbamazepine, cimetidine, St John's wort. Avoid any drugs that increase youre heart-rate (the decongestants phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine & phenylpropanolamine examples). These drugs are commonly found in over-the-counter cough-and-cold products. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Cartia Xt Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include dizziness, weakness, slowed or irregular heartbeat, nausea, drowsiness, confusion, & slurred speech.

Cartia Xt special notes: do not share it product with others.

If you missed Cartia Xt dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Cartia Xt Storage: Store in room temperature away from sunlight and moisture.
