Irritant or stimulant laxatives - oral
V R Laxative Usage: Irritant or stimulant laxatives are used to treat constipation and to clear intestine before rectal or bowel examinations.
How to use V R Laxative: Take each dose with full glass about water or juice and drink plenty of fluids while taking this drug. Chewable pills are to be chewed thoroughly. meds are to be swallowed whole with full glass of water. Wafers are to be chewed. Laxatives should not be used in persons experiencing stomach cramps, nausea or vomiting.
V R Laxative side effects: it medication may cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rectal irritation, stomach cramps or bloating. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're healthcare professional. Notify you're pharmacist if you experience: rectal bleeding, rapid heart rate, weakness, dizziness, fainting, sweating, skin rash, unrelieved constipation. this drug can cause the urine to turn pink, red or brownish in color. do not be alarmed. it isn't harmful. Prolonged, frequent or excessive use of laxatives may lead to dependency. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.
V R Laxative Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, heart disease, HBP, swelling (edema), any allergies (especially to tartrazine). Castor oil is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Bulk producing laxatives are an alternative. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Consult your pharmacist before using any medication while breast-feeding.
V R Laxative pill interactions: Because laxatives may interfere with the absorption of some tablets, it is important to tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take. Avoid use of dairy products or antacids within one hour of taking bisacodyl pills. do not start or stop any medicine with out pharmacist or doctor approval.
V R Laxative Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include severe diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, muscle cramps, weakness, lack about feeling alert, or dry gums & eyes.
V R Laxative special notes: To maintain normal bowel habits, Its important to drink plenty of fluids (4 to 6 eight ounce glasses a day), increase your intake of fiber & roughage & exercise regularly.
If you missed V R Laxative dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the clock for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
