Formula D Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination medication is used to treat cough & relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Formula D: it drug is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets and capsules whole. don't crush or chew them because long action will be destroyed & the chance about side effects will be increased. Take it drug as prescribed. do not increase some your dose or take this more often then directed.
Formula D side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify youre pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Formula D Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any drug allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult some your pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with you're pharmacist. this medication may be excreted in to breast milk. Consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Formula D medication interactions: Tell your pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you use, especially: medication for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Formula D Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of the eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Formula D special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Formula D dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near clock since the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't double dose to catch up.
Formula D Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
