Brontex Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous & congestion. Codeine is used to quiet cough. it combination medication is used to control cough & congestion associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Brontex: Take this drug with food if stomach upset occurs. Take this medication as directed. do not increase dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed. this is strong cough pill & must only be used since the condition & by person for which it is prescribed. it must not be used for just any cough. this is helpful to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.
Brontex side effects: Drowsiness, constipation, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, dizziness or headache may occur first several days as your body adjusts to med. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: skin rash, itching, rapid heart rate. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Brontex Precautions: Tell youre doctor youre medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), substance abuse, allergies (especially to narcotics). Because this medication can cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol. it drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. since it isnot known if this med is found in breast milk; consult some your physician before breast-feeding.
Brontex drug interactions: Tell youre healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may take, including: sedatives, tranquilizers, narcotic pain relievers, sleeping tablets, seizure medication, muscle relaxants, medications for depression, cimetidine, quinidine. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Brontex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include slowed breathing, drowsiness, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, cold & clammy skin, dry mouth, & slow pulse.

If you missed Brontex dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the doses.
Brontex Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & heat. do not store in the bathroom.
