Guaifenesin/narcotic antitussive/antihistamine - oral
Tusnel HC Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Narcotic antitussives narcotic pain relievers in low doses which suppress cough. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose & throat and itchy, watery eyes. this combination medication is used to treat a cough and symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Tusnel HC: Take it medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more many times than directed. this drug is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack.
Tusnel HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur 1-st several days as youre body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're doctor. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, hypertension, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.
Tusnel HC Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of medication dependence, allergies (especially drug allergies). Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if it medication causes you to feel drowsy. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of it medication are found in breast milk, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Tusnel HC drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping meds, cimetidine, narcotic pain medications (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this drug. do not start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Tusnel HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, slow heartbeat, weakness, dizziness, slow or shallow breathing, drowsiness, agitation, restlessness, bizarre behavior, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Tusnel HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Tusnel HC dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Tusnel HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. don't store in bathroom.
