    Erythromycin ethylsuccinate - oral liquid

    E E S 400 Usage: Erythromycin is an antibiotic used to treat wide variety about bacterial infections.

    How to use E E S 400: this med may be taken with food or milk if stomach upset occurs. Shake liquid well before using. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in youre body is kept at a constant level. Do this by taking drug at evenly spaced intervals throughout day & night. Continue to take it medication until full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after some days. Stopping medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in relapse of infection.

    E E S 400 side effects: may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, or stomach cramps the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform your physician. Notify some your doctor if you develop symptoms about jaundice as such: dark urine, clay-colored stools, yellowing of eyes or skin. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this tablet, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. Use of it medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection) If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or physician.

    E E S 400 Precautions: Tell youre healthcare professional youre medical history, especially: liver disease/jaundice, any allergies. Caution is advised when this drug is used in infants. Though very unlikely to happen, a stomach problem called IHPS (infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis) has been noted. Contact some your child's healthcare professional immediately if child has persistent vomiting or increased irritability. it drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Small amounts of drug do appear in breast milk, so consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

    E E S 400 tablet interactions: Tell some your pharmacist of every the drugs you may use, (prescription and nonprescription) especially about the following: carbamazepine, cyclosporine, theophylline, certain benzodiazepines (e.g., midazolam, triazolam), warfarin, felodipine (a calcium channel blocker), cisapride, birth control tablets, corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), digoxin, ergotamine-containing medications, sildenafil, certain live vaccines, disopyramide, phenytoin, other antibiotics, certain drugs used to treat high cholesterol (e.g., lovastatin). other drugs besides erythromycin which may affect the heart rhythm (QTc prolongation in EKG) include dofetilide, pimozide, quinidine, sotalol, procainamide, & sparfloxacin among others. QTc prolongation can infrequently result in serious, rarely death, irregular heartbeats. Consult your physician or doctor for details. Ask for instructions about whether you need to stop any another QTc-prolonging drugs you may be using in order to minimize risk of this effect. it tablet may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control tablets. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or doctor approval.

    E E S 400 Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include stomach cramping, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

    E E S 400 special notes: this medication has been prescribed for your current condition only. do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. different medication may be necessary.

    If you missed E E S 400 dose: If you should miss dose, take it as soon as remembered unless It's almost time for next dose. If this is nearly time for next dose, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose.

    E E S 400 Storage: Refrigerate. do not freeze. cash the expiration date about youre prescription and discard any unused portion after that date or after your healthcare professional tells you to stop taking it.
