Carteolol HCL Usage: this medication is used to treat glaucoma & to reduce pressure in the eye.
How to use Carteolol HCL: Use this medication as directed. Try to use it at same clock each day to get into a routine of taking this. do not stop using it medication without 1st consulting you're pharmacist. Apply eye drops to the affected eyes as follows: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch dropper or let it touch your eye. Tilt some your head back, gaze upward & pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place dropper directly over eye & administer prescribed number of drops. watch downward and gently close youre eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at the corner about eye near nose & apply gentle pressure. this will prevent the tablet from draining away from eye. Try not to blink and don't rub eye. Do no rinse dropper. If you are using other kind of eye drop, wait in least five minutes before applying another medications.
Carteolol HCL side effects: this drug may temporarily sting or burn youre eyes for minute or 2 when applied. other side effects reported include brow ache, tearing & sensitivity to light. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable for a period after applying eye drops. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Notify your pharmacist if you develop skin rash, eye pain, swelling in or around eyes, vision problems, breathing trouble, slow or irregular heartbeat, headache, dizziness or depression while using it med. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or doctor.
Carteolol HCL Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have asthma, heart disease, lung disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, muscle disease or any allergies. this drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss the risks & benefits with you're healthcare professional.
Carteolol HCL drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including heart drug, blood pressure medication, quinidine or verapamil. If you scheduled for any surgery, be sure your doctor knows you taking this med. it may be necessary to stop using this for short time. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.
Carteolol HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. it medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Carteolol HCL special notes: youre intraocular (eye) pressure will be monitored to cash the effectiveness of it medication.
If you missed Carteolol HCL dose: If you miss a dose, use this as soon as remembered; do not use this if it is near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Carteolol HCL Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. Discard this if solution turns brown, cloudy or contains particles.
