Guaifenesin/dextromethorphan/decongestant - oral
Tusnel DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses a cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination medication is used to treat cough and relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Tusnel DM: it medication is best taken with a full glass about water after meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets and capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because long action will be destroyed & chance of side effects will be increased. Take this medication as prescribed. don't increase some your dose or take this more often than directed.
Tusnel DM side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss about appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.
Tusnel DM Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any drug allergies. money this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. this medication may be excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Tusnel DM medication interactions: Tell your doctor about every prescription & nonprescription pills you use, especially: medication for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit you're intake about alcoholic beverages while taking this drug. do not start or stop any medicine with-out pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Tusnel DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change at behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or quick heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Tusnel DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Tusnel DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if this is near the clock for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
Tusnel DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in the bathroom.
