Decongestant/narcotic antitussive/antihistamine - oral
Histinex HC Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. the antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. it combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Histinex HC: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase some your dose or take it more often then directed. this tablet is best taken with a full glass about water after meal or snack.
Histinex HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur the 1-st some days as your body adjusts to medication. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're doctor. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, hypertension, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre pharmacist or physician.
Histinex HC Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, a history of medication dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. check it product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of this drug found at breast milk, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Histinex HC drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take, including: blood pressure medications, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain med (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this drug. don't start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Histinex HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Histinex HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Histinex HC dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Histinex HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom.
