Ri Mag Usage: Magaldrate is an antacid. it neutralizes & reduces stomach acid relieving heartburn & indigestion. It's used to treat an upset stomach, ulcers, hiatal hernia & other digestive disorders.
How to use Ri Mag: Take this medication as directed usually between meals and in bedtime. don't take more of it than prescribed. Too many antacid can actually increase amount about acid the stomach produces. the liquid form should be shaken well before pouring each dose. Chewable tablets are to be chewed thoroughly before swallowing. Follow with a glass of water. Non-chewable tablets should be swallowed whole followed with glass of water.
Ri Mag side effects: this med is generally well tolerated. Loss of appetite, diarrhea or constipation may occur. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: vomiting of coffee ground- like material, dark urine, tar-like stools. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Ri Mag Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: stomach disorders, kidney disease, allergies. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with you're healthcare professional. Consult your healthcare professional before using any med while breast-feeding.
Ri Mag drug interactions: Tell youre doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take, especially about: iron, tetracycline, oral antidiabetic med, digoxin. Avoid taking any drug within 1 to 2 hours of taking an antacid. antacid may interfere with absorption of medication. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Ri Mag Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Ri Mag special notes: this pill is available at various forms: suspension, chewable tablets or swallow meds. Ask you're doctor or physician to help select the best product for you.
If you missed Ri Mag dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if this is near the time since following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Ri Mag Storage: Store tablets & capsules in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. the liquid form of this drug may be stored in the refrigerator to improve taste.
