    Antibacterials - ophthalmic, otic

    Tobrex Usage: it drug is used to treat infections of eye (ophthalmic) or ear (otic).

    How to use Tobrex: Use this as prescribed. Continue using this for full clock prescribed. Stopping therapy too soon may result in reinfection. To apply eye or ear medication, wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper or tube or let it touch affected area. Shake drops well before using. Hold ointment tube in your hand since few minutes to make drug flow easier. EYE medication: Tilt your head back, gaze upward & pull down lower eyelid to make pouch. for drops, place dropper directly over eye & administer prescribed number of drops. look downward & gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. With eye ointment, place medication inside the lower lid using sweeping motion. Close eye & roll eyeball. Remove excess ointment with tissue. Try not to blink and do not rub eye. If you are using other kind of eye medication, wait five to ten minutes before applying. EAR medication: Lie on your side or turn the affected ear upward to make application easier. Place prescribed number of drops at ear. Avoid touching ear canal. Keep ear tilted for one to 2 minutes. small piece about clean cotton may be placed in the ear to prevent drops from escaping.

    Tobrex side effects: this medication may temporarily sting when first applied. If this effect persists or worsens, inform your doctor promptly. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, redness, swelling or discharge (including the eye or ear area), trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre healthcare professional or pharmacist.

    Tobrex Precautions: Tell youre doctor your medical history, especially: all previous eye or ear problems, if you use contact lenses, any allergies. Vision may be temporarily blurred after applying eye drug. Use caution driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. this and all drugs should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy or when breast-feeding. Consult with youre doctor if you pregnant or breast-feeding.

    Tobrex drug interactions: Tell youre physician of all meds you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially about: silver preparations, every other eye or ear antibiotic or corticosteroid (e.g., hydrocortisone) drugs. do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Tobrex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. it medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Tobrex special notes: Throw away any unused part about you're prescription. do not save it to use for another infection. do not allow anyone else to use this tablet. the infection may spread to another person if you accidentally contaminate medication.

    If you missed Tobrex dose: If you miss a dose, apply this as soon as remembered; do not use if It's almost time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Tobrex Storage: Depending upon the manufacturer, product may be stored in room temperature or refrigerated. Ask your pharmacist. don't store in bathroom. do not freeze.
