Keflex Usage: it medication is an antibiotic that is used to treat a variety about bacterial infections.
How to use Keflex: Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in your body is kept at constant level. Do it by taking the tablet at evenly spaced intervals throughout day & night. this med works best when taken on an empty stomach. However, if stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food. Continue to take this pill until full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after few days. Stopping the tablet too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in relapse of the infection.
Keflex side effects: it med may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting. If these effects persist or worsen, inform your healthcare professional promptly. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: fever, simple bleeding or bruising, change at amount of urine, seizures. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or physician.
Keflex Precautions: Before taking this medication, tell you're physician if you are allergic to any medications, especially: penicillins, cephalosporins. Inform youre physician of any medical conditions, especially of: kidney disease. Use of this tablet for prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to side effects of the tablet. Tell youre pharmacist if you are pregnant before using it drug. this med is excreted into breast milk. Though no problems have been noted, consult youre pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Keflex drug interactions: Tell your physician of all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially about: medication since gout (e.g., probenecid). this med may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your healthcare professional. Cephalosporins may cause false positive results in tests for sugar in urine. Diabetics should use Clinistix rather than Clinitest tablets. Blood sugar testing is not affected. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Keflex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain.
Keflex special notes: this pill has been prescribed for your current condition only. don't use this later for other infection or give this to someone else. a different med may be necessary.
If you missed Keflex dose: If you should miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered unless Its almost time since next dose. If it is nearly time since the next dose, skip the missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose.
Keflex Storage: Store in room temperature away from moisture & sunlight. do not store at bathroom.
