Dilex G Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dyphylline acts to widen air passages in lungs to make breathing easier. this combination medication is used to relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Dilex G: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this medication is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack.
Dilex G side effects: Headache, stomach upset, loss about appetite, nausea, anxiety, irritability or nervousness may occur the first few days as your body adjusts to the med. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your pharmacist. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, fast/irregular heartbeat, rash, vomiting, trouble sleeping, dizziness, flushing, tremors, mental confusion. Notify your doctor if you're breathing difficulty continues or worsens. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Dilex G Precautions: Tell youre doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), HBP, history of ulcers or seizures, glaucoma, any allergies. Smoking can reduce the effects of this drug. Inform your physician if you smoke before taking this. Limit your intake of caffeine containing goods while taking it medication as it can increase the risk of side effects. Caffeine is found in coffee, tea, cola, cocoa and chocolate. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre physician. since small amounts of it drug found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Dilex G medication interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: blood pressure medicine, anti-seizure meds, antibiotics, steroids, thyroid hormones, 'water pills' (diuretics). do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Dilex G Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, restlessness, irritability, headache, difficulty sleeping, loss about appetite, irregular heart rate, sweating, & seizures.
Dilex G special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Dilex G dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Dilex G Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. don't store in bathroom.
