Dc 240 Usage: this medication helps fluids to mix with the stool to keep them from becoming hard or dry. Its used to treat constipation.

How to use Dc 240: Swallow capsules & tablets whole with full glass of water or juice. liquid & syrup forms must be given in 6 to 8 ounces about milk or juice to prevent throat irritation. Relief is usually obtained in 1 to 3 days after 1st dose.

Dc 240 side effects: this medication can cause stomach ache, cramping or irritated throat (liquid & syrup forms). If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify you're physician if you experience: skin rash, rectal bleeding, lack of bowel movements. Frequent use of laxatives can cause dehydration and loss of essential nutrients. Symptoms include muscle cramps, muscle weakness or dizziness. Maintain an adequate fluid intake while using this medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or doctor.

Dc 240 Precautions: don't take aspirin (unless prescribed by youre doctor) or mineral oil while taking stool softeners. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, do not take over-the-counter stool softeners (or any other nonprescription medication) without obtaining your doctor's advice.

Dc 240 medication interactions: this drug is not recommended for use with mineral oil. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Tell you're doctor of every prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially aspirin.

Dc 240 Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Dc 240 special notes: Laxatives should only be used temporarily until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence. To prevent constipation: drink 4 to 6 glasses of water daily, include bulk or roughage in you're diet, & exercise regularly.

If you missed Dc 240 dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time since following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Dc 240 Storage: Store in room temperature away from sunlight & moisture.
