    Mupirocin - topical ointment

    Bactroban Usage: this med is used to treat infections of the skin such as impetigo.

    How to use Bactroban: Clean & dry affected area before applying the drug. To apply, gently massage a little bit of medication into affected area and surrounding skin 5 times daily or as directed by your healthcare professional. Cover with a loose fitting bandage if desired. Continue to use the medication as prescribed for the full clock prescribed. Stopping therapy too early can result in re- infection. If no improvement is seen in 3 to three days, consult your healthcare professional. another drug may be necessary. Avoid using it medication around the eyes, nose, mouth, or on large areas about damaged or broken skin unless directed otherwise by your physician.

    Bactroban side effects: this medication may cause burning, stinging or itching when first applied to the skin. this should disappear in a few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects persist or worsen, inform some your doctor. Notify some your healthcare professional promptly if the next effects occur: redness or swelling in treated area. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.

    Bactroban Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially: kidney disease, any allergies. Use about this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., fungal infection). Tell your physician if you are pregnant before using this medication. Its not known if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

    Bactroban drug interactions: Tell youre physician of every medicines you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: chloramphenicol, any skin products. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Bactroban Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Bactroban special notes: it med is prescribed since youre current condition only. do not use it for another infection or share this with someone else. other infection later on may require different medication.

    If you missed Bactroban dose: If you miss dose, apply as soon as remembered & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    Bactroban Storage: Store ointment at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. Avoid freezing. don't store in the bathroom.
