    Guaifenesin with dextromethorphan - oral

    Q Tussin DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination pill is used to treat a cough associated with the common cold, allergies and other respiratory illnesses.

    How to use Q Tussin DM: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase your dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules & long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed & the chance about side effects will be increased.

    Q Tussin DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur first several days as your body adjusts to the tablet. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your doctor. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop any of these effects while taking it medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this drug makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.

    Q Tussin DM Precautions: Tell your physician youre medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this med must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of this drug are found in breast milk, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.

    Q Tussin DM pill interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Q Tussin DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

    Q Tussin DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

    If you missed Q Tussin DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the clock for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    Q Tussin DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
