Comvax Usage: this vaccine helps protect children from certain types about infections (Haemophilus influenzae type b & hepatitis B virus) that may cause serious or life-threatening disease (e.g., meningitis, pneumonia, hepatitis).
How to use Comvax: it medication is given by injection into muscle (IM). three doses about shot given, usually at 2, 4, and 12- 15 months of age; or as directed by your doctor. it is very important to receive all three shots as directed by you're physician or the medicine/vaccine may not work as well. Keep all scheduled medical appointments. Follow every directions for proper use. Shake vial well before using the vaccine. Consult your healthcare professional. this drug should be checked visually before use for any discoloration or other changes. If present, or if you are unsure if you should use the vaccine, consult your doctor.
Comvax side effects: Drowsiness, irritability/crying, fever (e.g., 101- 103 degrees F or 38-39 degrees C), or pain/redness/mild swelling in the injection site may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your healthcare professional promptly. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any about these serious side effects occur: loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, cough, trouble breathing. Tell some your physician immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: seizures, unusual muscle weakness, fainting, high fever (greater than 103 degrees F or 39. 4 degrees C). in unlikely series child experiences an allergic reaction to this medication seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice any another effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or pharmacist.
Comvax Precautions: Tell your pharmacist child's medical history, especially of: bleeding problems, recent illness, immune system problems, tumors/cancer, previous exposure to hepatitis B (especially during birth), any allergies. Avoid use of alcohol or alcohol-containing nonprescription drugs as this may aggravate certain side effects of it tablet (e.g., drowsiness). Consult youre pharmacist. it med isn't recommended for use in child less than 6 weeks about age, because it may have a decreased effect. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your doctor. Its not known whether this drug is passed in to breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Comvax pill interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription and nonprescription med you may use, especially: drugs that impair the immune system (e.g., cyclosporine, prednisone, cancer drugs), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin, heparins). Tell pharmacist if you use any drowsiness-causing medicine such as: medicine for sleep, sedatives/tranquilizers, anti-anxiety drugs, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicine, anti-seizure medications, muscle relaxants, certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine). check all nonprescription medicine labels carefully, especially cough & cold preparations, since many contain antihistamines that can cause drowsiness (e.g., diphenhydramine). Consult your physician if you are uncertain about the use of any about these products. do not start or stop any medicine with-out pharmacist or healthcare professional approval.
Comvax Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Comvax special notes: Consult youre healthcare professional or pharmacist regarding temporary use of acetaminophen to treat pain & fever due to it medication.
If you missed Comvax dose: it is important the child receives each vaccination as scheduled. If you miss a dose, contact your physician immediately to establish a new dosing schedule.
Comvax Storage: Store in refrigerator between 36 & 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C) away from light and moisture. do not freeze.
