    Aluminum w/magnesium hydroxide - oral

    (uh-lew-mih-num with mag-nee-zee-um hi-drox-ide)

    Alamag PLUS Usage: this is an antacid that works at stomach to neutralize and reduce acid. Antacids are used to treat an upset stomach caused by heartburn, acid indigestion, or sour stomach; to treat peptic ulcer, hiatal hernia or other conditions caused by an excess about stomach acid; and to prevent ulcers or bleeding from ulcers.

    How to use Alamag PLUS: Take this medication as prescribed. Taking too much of of an antacid can reverse effects and more acid will be secreted. in certain conditions, however, it may be necessary to take antacid as frequently as all 1 to two hours. To be effective, chewable tablets must be chewed thoroughly before swallowing followed by a full glass about water. Shake liquid forms well before pouring each dose. do not take any other drug within 1 to 2 hours of taking an antacid. since antacids coat stomach, they can prevent another drugs from being absorbed properly if taken at same time.

    Alamag PLUS side effects: this tablet can cause nausea, loss about appetite, constipation or diarrhea, weakness, or headache. If these symptoms persist or become severe, notify your pharmacist. Notify your pharmacist if you notice black, tarry stools while taking this medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.

    Alamag PLUS Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: kidney problems.

    Alamag PLUS drug interactions: Tell youre pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: tetracycline, ferrous sulfate (iron), drugs used for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, indomethacin), digoxin, isoniazid, pseudoephedrine, diazepam, methenamine, ketoconazole. don't start or stop any medicine with out physician or pharmacist approval.

    Alamag PLUS Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, fatigue, weakness, severe nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, drowsiness, slow or shallow breathing, or loss of consciousness.

    Alamag PLUS special notes: Refrigerating liquid antacids may improve taste. do not freeze. If you dislike the taste of one antacid, talk to some your healthcare professional or pharmacist of switching to a similar product. liquid antacid forms work faster & more effective than the other forms. However, chewable pills may be more convenient.

    If you missed Alamag PLUS dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    Alamag PLUS Storage: Store tablets, capsules & powdered forms at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in bathroom. do not freeze liquid forms of it medication.
