Varivax Vaccine Usage: varicella virus is commonly known as chickenpox. this drug is a vaccine given to persons over 1 year of age to protect against chickenpox.
How to use Varivax Vaccine: it drug is given by subcutaneous injection into upper arm by health care professional. the prepared vaccine should be clear & colorless (or pale yellow), if not than discard. children receive single dose. Adults, 12 years & older receive two doses 4 to 8 weeks apart.
Varivax Vaccine side effects: most common are burning, stinging, pain or redness in injection site, mild fever, skin rash. Also reported include cough, irritability, headache, loss of appetite & fatigue. If any of these effects continue beyond few days or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify you're doctor if you experience: high fever, breathing trouble, chills, hives, stiff neck. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Varivax Vaccine Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: other illnesses or infections, blood disorders, immune system disorders, allergies (especially to gelatin or neomycin). this med isn't to be given during pregnancy. this is also recommended that gir avoid pregnancy for three months after receiving it vaccine. Discuss risks & benefits with you're doctor. It's not known if it medication appears at breast milk. Consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.

If you missed Varivax Vaccine dose: this is usually given as once dose. As with most meds, don't 'double-up' the dose if a dose is missed.
