Tums 500 Usage: Calcium supplements used to ensure an adequate intake of calcium during important periods about bone growth such as in childhood, during pregnancy and while breast-feeding. in adults, calcium is used to prevent osteoporosis (deterioration of bone).
How to use Tums 500: Take with a large glass of water during or after meal. Use as directed. If you are using chewable product, it should be chewed well before swallowing. If you using an effervescent tablet, this must be dissolved in a glass of cold water or juice before taking it. Allow med to stop fizzing before drinking. Drink liquid slowly. Because calcium can interfere with the absorption of other drugs, do not take other medications within 2 hours of taking calcium.
Tums 500 side effects: Calcium is generally well tolerated. High levels about calcium can cause some adverse effects. Notify some your healthcare professional if you experience any of following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, stomach pain, thirst, dry mouth, increased urination. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.
Tums 500 Precautions: If you have any of next health problems, consult your healthcare professional before using this drug: diarrhea, stomach trouble, parathyroid disease, lung disease (sarcoidosis), kidney stones. Tell your physician if you pregnant before using it med. few forms of calcium are known to be excreted into breast milk. Though there have been no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Tums 500 drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of every prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: vitamins, tetracycline, quinolone antibiotics (e.g. ciprofloxacin), gallium nitrate, cellulose sodium phosphate, etidronate, magnesium sulfate, phenytoin. do not eat large amounts of bran or whole grain cereals & breads. They may reduce absorption of calcium. Also, consuming alcohol, big amounts about caffeine, & tobacco smoking may affect absorption about calcium. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or doctor approval.
Tums 500 Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe nausea & vomiting, weakness, or constipation.
Tums 500 special notes: Foods rich at calcium include: dairy products & leafy green vegetables such as broccoli, kale, and collards. watch for foods fortified with calcium such as orange juice and flour. theyre is no difference between calcium products derived from natural or synthetic sources.
If you missed Tums 500 dose: Take the missed dose as soon as possible but not if Its almost time for next dose. If this is time for the following dose, skip the missed dose & resume some your regular schedule. don't double dose.
Tums 500 Storage: Store at room temperature & keep away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in the bathroom. do not freeze the liquid forms.
