Calcium supplements - oral
Vr Calcium Usage: Calcium supplements used to ensure an adequate intake of calcium during important periods of bone growth such as in childhood, during pregnancy & while breast-feeding. at adults, calcium is used to prevent osteoporosis (deterioration of bone).
How to use Vr Calcium: Take with big glass of water during or after meal. Use as directed. If you using a chewable product, it must be chewed well before swallowing. If you using an effervescent med, it must be dissolved at glass of cold water or juice before taking it. Allow tablet to stop fizzing before drinking. Drink liquid slowly. Because calcium can interfere with the absorption of other drugs, do not take other medications within two hours about taking calcium.
Vr Calcium side effects: Calcium is generally well tolerated. High levels of calcium may cause some adverse effects. Notify youre healthcare professional if you experience any of following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, stomach pain, thirst, dry mouth, increased urination. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Vr Calcium Precautions: If you have any of following health problems, consult your physician before using it drug: diarrhea, stomach trouble, parathyroid disease, lung disease (sarcoidosis), kidney stones. Tell your physician if you pregnant before using this tablet. some forms of calcium known to be excreted into breast milk. Though there have been no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult you're physician before breast-feeding.
Vr Calcium pill interactions: Tell you're doctor of all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: vitamins, tetracycline, quinolone antibiotics (e.g. ciprofloxacin), gallium nitrate, cellulose sodium phosphate, etidronate, magnesium sulfate, phenytoin. do not eat large amounts of bran or whole grain cereals & breads. They may reduce absorption of calcium. Also, consuming alcohol, large amounts about caffeine, & tobacco smoking may affect absorption of calcium. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or doctor approval.
Vr Calcium Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe nausea & vomiting, weakness, or constipation.
Vr Calcium special notes: Foods rich in calcium include: dairy products and leafy green vegetables such as broccoli, kale, & collards. look for foods fortified with calcium such as orange juice & flour. there is no difference between calcium products derived from natural or synthetic sources.
If you missed Vr Calcium dose: Take missed dose as soon as possible but not if It's almost clock for the following dose. If Its time since the next dose, skip the missed dose & resume your regular schedule. don't double the dose.
Vr Calcium Storage: Store at room temperature and keep away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in bathroom. do not freeze the liquid forms.
