Corticosteroids - topical
Ala Cort Usage: it medication is used to treat swelling, inflammation, or itching of skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, rashes, insect bites, poison ivy, allergies & other irritations.
How to use Ala Cort: Clean and dry the affected area before applying drug. To apply, gently massage a small amount bit of the med into affected area and surrounding skin. don't bandage, wrap or cover the region treated unless you instructed to do so by your physician. don't use plastic pants or tight fitting diapers on children being treated with this drug in diaper region. Avoid using this pill around eyes unless directed to do so by some your physician.
Ala Cort side effects: it med can cause burning, stinging, itching, or redness when first applied to the skin. this must disappear in a few days as your body adjusts to drug. this drug may also cause skin thinning and discoloration. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform youre doctor. Skin infections can become worse when using it med. Notify your pharmacist if redness, swelling or irritation does not improve. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or pharmacist.
Ala Cort Precautions: don't use it drug near eyes if you have glaucoma. Treatment with clobetasol, halobetasol propionate and augmented betamethasone dipropionate beyond 2 weeks consecutively isnt recommended. do not use if theyre is an infection or sores present on area to be treated. Though very unlikely, It's possible this drug will be absorbed into youre bloodstream. this may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. this is especially true for children & for those who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. this precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult you're physician or physician for more details. this medication should be used cautiously during pregnancy & only if clearly needed. Discuss the benefits & risks with your doctor. Small amounts of this medication may appear in breast milk. Consult with you're doctor before breast-feeding.
Ala Cort drug interactions: Tell your doctor of all medications you may use, (both prescription and nonprescription), especially about: prednisone (or similar drugs), other skin medicines. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Ala Cort Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Ala Cort special notes: Inform all you're doctors you use (or have used) this med. do not share it drug with others.
If you missed Ala Cort dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if It's almost time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Ala Cort Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight. Avoid freezing.
