Oxacillin Sodium Usage: this pill is a penicillin-related antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections.
How to use Oxacillin Sodium: this med should be taken on an empty stomach. the liquid suspension form of this medicine must be shaken well before using. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in your body is kept at constant level. Do it by taking the medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout day & night. Continue to take this med until full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after several days. Stopping the med too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse about infection.
Oxacillin Sodium side effects: this medication may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting during 1st several days as your body adjusts to med. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform your healthcare professional. Notify youre doctor immediately if an allergic reaction occurs while taking this med. Symptoms include: difficulty breathing, skin rash, hives, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or doctor.
Oxacillin Sodium Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: another illnesses, allergies (especially to penicillin or other antibiotics). Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). this tablet should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with you're doctor. since small amounts of it drug are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Oxacillin Sodium drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: tetracycline. this drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using another methods of birth control with your physician. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.
Oxacillin Sodium Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, agitation, confusion, muscle weakness, unconsciousness, or seizures.
Oxacillin Sodium special notes: this drug has been prescribed since your current condition only. do not use it later for another infection or give this to someone else. a different med may be necessary in those cases.
If you missed Oxacillin Sodium dose: If you should miss dose, take it as soon as remembered unless this is almost clock for following dose. If it is nearly time for next dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose.
Oxacillin Sodium Storage: Store tablets & capsules at room temperature away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in bathroom. Refrigerate liquid forms. Discard any unused portion after 14 days as it loses potency.
