Vaqta Usage: this pill is vaccine given to persons over two years about age to prevent hepatitis a infection. it vaccine is recommended for persons traveling to areas where risk about hepatitis a is high; for persons at increased risk due to they're jobs, such as institutional or day care workers, animal handlers, lab workers, military personnel; IV drug abusers; residents of communities with an outbreak of hepatitis a. Discuss risks & benefits of vaccination with some your doctor.
How to use Vaqta: this pill is given by intramuscular injection in to upper arm by health care professional. Shake well before injecting. Generally a single dose & a booster dose 6 to 12 months later are given.
Vaqta side effects: most common is burning, stinging, pain or redness at the injection site. Mild fever, fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite, headache or weakness occur infrequently. If any of these effects continue beyond two days or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify youre healthcare professional if you experience: high fever, trouble breathing, skin rash, dizziness, tingling of hands or feet, muscle or joint pain. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or pharmacist.
Vaqta Precautions: Tell some your healthcare professional your medical history especially: illnesses or infections, blood disorders, immune system disorders, any allergies. this medication must be given during pregnancy only when clearly needed. Discuss risks & benefits with youre doctor. it isnot known if this med appears in breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Vaqta medication interactions: Tell some your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: steroids, anti-cancer drugs, immunosuppressants. do not start or stop any medicine with out pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Vaqta Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Vaqta special notes: Hepatitis is highly contagious virus that can cause liver disease. the virus is spread by contaminated food or water, infected food handlers, ingestion of raw shellfish from contaminated water, poor sanitary conditions, blood transfusions or sharing needles with infected persons.
If you missed Vaqta dose: it is usually given as a one clock dose. As with most meds, do not 'double-up' dose if dose is missed.
Vaqta Storage: this medication is stored in the refrigerator as directed.
