Warning: Daunorubicin may cause heart problems (including heart failure) or bone marrow suppression. Notify some your doctor immediately if you develop an irregular heartbeat, trouble breathing, swelling of hands or feet, easy bruising or bleeding, or signs of infection such as fever, unusual fatigue, or persistent sore throat. Tell you're doctor if you have liver problems, heart problems, or have had chest x-rays. You may require smaller doses of daunorubicin or require different treatment. Daunorubicin can cause reaction during the time drug is being administered. Symptoms about this reaction include back pain, flushing, & chest tightness. Notify the doctor or nurse immediately if you experience these symptoms.
Daunoxome Usage: this medication is used to treat certain types about cancer (e.g., advanced Kaposi's sarcoma).
How to use Daunoxome: Follow every instructions for dilution with correct IV fluids. Follow every safety precautions. Consult your pharmacist for details. Give it drug by injection in to vein (IV), generally over 60 minutes, every two weeks or as directed by physician. the length of treatment depends on your condition & response to therapy. do not inject this med into muscle (IM) or just beneath skin (subcutaneously). Closely monitor for redness, pain & swelling at or around injection site (see SIDE EFFECTS). this medication should be checked visually for particles before use. If present, do not use liquid.
Daunoxome side effects: Nausea, diarrhea, headache, constipation, dizziness, fatigue, hair loss, or drowsiness may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Tell youre doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: fever, persistent sore throat, cough, chills, runny nose, stomach pain, loss of appetite, weakness or numbness, increased sweating, sores in the mouth or throat, mental/mood changes, joint or muscle pain. Tell you're physician immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: pain/redness in the injection site, vision changes, black or bloody stools, seizures, changes in hearing. Tell some your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: irregular pulse, swelling in the hands and feet, trouble breathing, yellowing eyes & skin. An allergic reaction to this medication is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.
Daunoxome Precautions: Tell you're pharmacist youre medical history, especially of: any previous cancer, prior use of anthracycline drugs (e.g., daunorubicin, doxorubicin), blood cell problems (low blood cell counts such as neutropenia), heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease. this drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcohol intake because this can intensify the dizziness or drowsiness effects of this medication. Because it med can lower your body's ability to fight an infection, do not touch your eyes or the inside about your nose without first washing your hands. do not have immunizations/vaccinations without consent of you're pharmacist & avoid contact with people who have recently received oral polio vaccine. Use caution with sharp objects love safety razors or nail cutters & avoid activities such as contact sports to lower the chance of getting cut, bruised or injured. this med is not recommended for use during pregnancy. in addition, it is recommended that you not become pregnant while using it tablet. Consult your doctor for more details. it is unknown if it drug passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Daunoxome medication interactions: Tell some your pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription pill you may use, especially: medications causing drowsiness such as medicine for sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety medications, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines, anti-seizure drugs, muscle relaxants & antihistamines that cause drowsiness (e.g., diphenhydramine). check labels carefully on all your medicines (e.g., cough- and-cold products) because they can contain drowsiness-causing ingredients. Ask your physician about the safe use of those products. don't start or stop any medicine with-out healthcare professional or doctor approval.
Daunoxome Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: very severe vomiting & sedation (severe drowsiness).
Daunoxome special notes: Laboratory and/or medical tests (including heart function tests) may be performed to monitor for side effects & response to treatment.
If you missed Daunoxome dose: If you miss a dose or if dose is interrupted, contact some your physician immediately to establish new dosing schedule.
Daunoxome Storage: Store vials at refrigerator between 36 & 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C) away from light and moisture. After mixing & dilution in correct IV fluids (consult your pharmacist for details), the drug is stable at refrigerator temperature for 6 hours. Discard any unused liquid.
