Guaifenesin/decongestant/narcotic antitussive liquid - oral
Dihydro Gp Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosen mucus. the decongestant relieves nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. this combination drug is used to treat cough & relieve symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Dihydro Gp: it medication is best taken with, or after, meal or snack. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed.
Dihydro Gp side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or anxiety may occur first several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre pharmacist. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, painful or difficult urination, tremors, nervousness, trouble sleeping, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or doctor.
Dihydro Gp Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of medication dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if it medication causes you to feel drowsy. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult you're pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. it product should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. at least one about ingredients in this combination product is known to be excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Dihydro Gp drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (e.g., selegiline, linezolid, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Dihydro Gp Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Dihydro Gp special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. this will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Dihydro Gp dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if It's near time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Dihydro Gp Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
