    Antibacterials - ophthalmic, otic

    Aktob Usage: this medication is used to treat infections of eye (ophthalmic) or ear (otic).

    How to use Aktob: Use this as prescribed. Continue using this since the full time prescribed. Stopping therapy too soon may result at a reinfection. To apply eye or ear medication, wash hands 1st. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch dropper or tube or let it touch affected area. Shake drops well before using. Hold ointment tube in your hand since several minutes to make tablet flow easier. EYE med: Tilt your head back, gaze upward & pull down lower eyelid to make pouch. for drops, place dropper directly over eye and administer the prescribed number of drops. look downward & gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. With eye ointment, place med inside lower lid using a sweeping motion. Close eye & roll eyeball. Remove excess ointment with tissue. Try not to blink and do not rub the eye. If you using another kind of eye medication, wait five to ten minutes before applying. EAR drug: Lie on you're side or turn affected ear upward to make application easier. Place prescribed number about drops in ear. Avoid touching the ear canal. Keep ear tilted for one to 2 minutes. small piece of clean cotton may be placed in the ear to prevent drops from escaping.

    Aktob side effects: this medication may temporarily sting when first applied. If this effect persists or worsens, inform some your pharmacist promptly. in the unlikely part you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, redness, swelling or discharge (including the eye or ear area), trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.

    Aktob Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially: all previous eye or ear problems, if you use contact lenses, any allergies. Vision may be temporarily blurred after applying eye medication. Use caution driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. this & all medications should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy or when breast-feeding. Consult with your pharmacist if you pregnant or breast-feeding.

    Aktob drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every drugs you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially about: silver preparations, all other eye or ear antibiotic or corticosteroid (e.g., hydrocortisone) medications. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Aktob Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Aktob special notes: Throw away any unused part of your prescription. do not save it to use for another infection. do not allow anyone else to use this pill. the infection may spread to another person if you accidentally contaminate med.

    If you missed Aktob dose: If you miss dose, apply this as soon as remembered; don't use if it is almost clock for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Aktob Storage: Depending upon the manufacturer, the product may be stored in room temperature or refrigerated. Ask you're pharmacist. do not store in the bathroom. don't freeze.
