Combination antibiotic - ophthalmic solution
Neoptic Usage: this medication is used to treat eye infections.
How to use Neoptic: for best effects, this medication must be used as directed. Continue using it for full time prescribed. Stopping it med too soon may not clear infection and could possibly result in a reinfection. Apply eye drops to affected eyes as follows: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch dropper or let it touch your eye. Shake the eye drops before using. Tilt your head back, gaze upward & pull down the lower eyelid to make pouch. Place dropper directly over eye & administer prescribed number of drops. look downward and gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at the corner of the eye near nose & apply gentle pressure. this will prevent medication from draining away from eye. Try not to blink & don't rub the eye. do not rinse the dropper. If you are using another kind of eye drop, wait at least five minutes before applying another drugs.
Neoptic side effects: it drug may temporarily sting or burn your eyes for a minute or two when applied. If this continues or becomes bothersome, inform you're pharmacist. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable for period after applying eye drops. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Notify you're physician immediately if you develop: skin rash, vision problems, itching/redness/pain/swelling in or around the eyes. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your physician or healthcare professional.
Neoptic Precautions: Tell youre doctor your medical history, especially of: other eye problems, any allergies you may have. this product should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. medications in this product may be excreted into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Neoptic med interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or healthcare professional approval.
Neoptic Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Neoptic special notes: If the condition for which this was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after a few days, consult youre doctor.
If you missed Neoptic dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use this if this is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Neoptic Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. Discard it if solution turns brown, cloudy or contains particles.
