Dynapen Usage: this medication is a penicillin-related antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections.
How to use Dynapen: this drug should be taken on an empty stomach. the liquid suspension form of it medicine must be shaken well before using. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in some your body is kept in constant level. Do this by taking the drug at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day & night. Continue to take it med until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping drug too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in relapse of the infection.
Dynapen side effects: this drug may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, & vomiting during first several days as your body adjusts to the drug. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor immediately if an allergic reaction occurs while taking this medication. Symptoms include: difficulty breathing, skin rash, hives, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or healthcare professional.
Dynapen Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: other illnesses, allergies (especially to penicillin or other antibiotics). Use about this drug for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. since small amounts of it drug are found in breast milk, consult you're pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Dynapen drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: tetracycline. this drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Dynapen Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, agitation, confusion, muscle weakness, unconsciousness, or seizures.
Dynapen special notes: this medication has been prescribed for your current condition only. don't use this later for another infection or give it to someone else. a different medication may be necessary in those cases.
If you missed Dynapen dose: If you should miss dose, take it as soon as remembered unless Its almost time for next dose. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose.
Dynapen Storage: Store pills and capsules at room temperature away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in the bathroom. Refrigerate liquid forms. Discard any unused portion after 14 days as it loses potency.
