Antihistamines with decongestants - oral

Chlorafed Usage: Antihistamines provide relief of symptoms of allergies such as rash, hives, watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes & sneezing. Decongestants relieve congestion, promote sinus draining and improve breathing.
How to use Chlorafed: May be taken with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking this drug, unless your physician instructs you otherwise. If symptoms do not improve after 7 days or are accompanied by a high fever, notify your physician. do not increase the dose or take this more frequently than recommended. the suspension dosage form must be shaken well before each use.
Chlorafed side effects: may cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, stomach upset, blurred vision, restlessness, irritability and dry mouth & nose. These effects should subside as your body adjusts to drug. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify youre doctor if you develop: breathing difficulties, heart pounding, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, ringing in ears, difficulty urinating. can cause dizziness especially when rising quickly from seated or lying position. Change positions slowly & be careful on stairs. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Chlorafed Precautions: Tell your pharmacist you're medical history, especially about: asthma, glaucoma, ulcers, difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland, heart disease, high blood pressure, seizures, an overactive thyroid gland, drug allergies. bucks this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your doctor promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain it product has PPA. do not drink alcoholic beverages. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding. do not give this medication to a child younger then 6 years of age unless directed to do so by doctor.
Chlorafed tablet interactions: Tell your healthcare professional what medications you take, especially about: HBP drugs, anti-seizure meds, antidepressants, sleeping tablets, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, narcotic pain med, other cold or allergy medication. don't take this medication if you have taken an MAO inhibitor (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within the last 2 weeks. do not start or stop any medicine with-out physician or pharmacist approval.
Chlorafed Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose at child may include dizziness, nausea/vomiting, abnormal eye movements, flushed face, dry mouth, change in amount of urine, fever, excitation, agitation, unconsciousness, bizarre behavior, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, tiredness, abnormal tongue movement, trembling extremities, slurred speech, or seizures. Symptoms of overdose in adults may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, or unconsciousness, which may be followed by excitement or seizures.
Chlorafed special notes: don't share this product with others.
If you missed Chlorafed dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost time since next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Chlorafed Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture.
