Potassium Citrate Citric Acid Usage: it medication makes urine less acidic. It's used in treatment of certain kidney disorders and gout.
How to use Potassium Citrate Citric Acid: it medication must be diluted in water before drinking to prevent stomach upset. Take prescribed dose and dilute this in at least 1/2 glass about water. Stir to mix and drink, following with additional water. this is usually taken after meals and at bedtime. do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking this medication. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take this more often without your doctor's approval.
Potassium Citrate Citric Acid side effects: Notify your pharmacist if you develop: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, fluid retention, convulsions, unusual weakness, mental confusion, tingling or numbness of hands or feet. Potassium Citrate Citric Acid drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take, including: lithium, chlorpropamide, methotrexate, aspirin, water pills, certain heart medications (e.g., quinidine, digoxin), certain blood pressure medications (e.g., ACE inhibitors such as lisinopril; angiotensin blockers such as losartan), methenamine, tetracyclines (including doxycycline & minocycline), potassium supplements, azole antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole). don't start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Potassium Citrate Citric Acid Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include sluggishness, weakness, confusion, irregular heartbeat, or fainting.
Potassium Citrate Citric Acid special notes: While taking this tablet, it may be necessary for you to test the pH (acidity) of your urine using special paper. the pH will help determine the proper dose.
If you missed Potassium Citrate Citric Acid dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if It's near time since the following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
