    Cyclopentolate hydrochloride - eye drops

    (sye-kloe-pen-toe-late)

    common brand names: Cyclogyl, Cylate, Pentolair

    Pentolair Usage: it drug is used to widen pupil about eye before an exam or surgery.

    How to use Pentolair: To apply eye drops, wash hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any another surface. Tilt you're head back, gaze upward & pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place dropper directly over eye & administer the prescribed number of drops. watch downward & gently close your eye for 1 to two minutes. Place one finger at corner of the eye near the nose and apply gentle pressure. this will prevent the tablet from draining away from eye. Try not to blink & don't rub the eye. don't rinse dropper. Replace cap after use. If you using this medicine in a child's eyes don't get any medicine in the child's mouth. Wash your hands & you're child's hands to remove any medicine from them. do not feed an infant for 4 hours after the infant's eye exam. the effect of this medicine may last for 24 hours or more.

    Pentolair side effects: a burning sensation in eyes, eye sensitivity to light, blurred vision or drowsiness (very uncommon) may occur. If these persist or worsen, notify youre physician promptly. Unlikely but report promptly: an unusually quick heartbeat, change in behavior/mood, mental changes, eye pain/swelling/red- ness, headache, fever. Very unlikely but report promptly dizziness, slow or shallow breathing or seizures. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Pentolair Precautions: Tell some your pharmacist you're medical history, including: allergies, eye problems (including glaucoma), brain disorders, heart disease. Caution is advised performing tasks requiring good vision (e.g. driving) since this medicine can cause eyes to be sensitive to light or blurred vision. Sunglasses advised. it medication must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your pharmacist. this isnot known whether this drug is excreted in to breast milk. Consult youre pharmacist before breast-feeding. Caution is advised when this med is used in child since this group may be more sensitive to side effects of this tablet. Caution is advised when this drug is used at the elderly since this group may be more sensitive to side effects about this medication.

    Pentolair medication interactions: Tell your physician of all nonprescription & prescription medication you may use, especially of: carbachol, pilocarpine, another eye medications. don't start or stop any medicine with-out physician or physician approval.

    Pentolair Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Pentolair special notes: do not share it medication with others.

    Pentolair Storage: Store at room temperature between 46 & 80 degrees F (8-27 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
