Dihistine Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosen mucus. the decongestant relieves nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. it combination medication is used to treat cough & relieve symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Dihistine: it drug is best taken with, or after, a meal or snack. Take this pill as prescribed. don't increase your dose or take this more often then directed.
Dihistine side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or anxiety may occur 1st some days as your body adjusts to medication. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your healthcare professional. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, painful or difficult urination, tremors, nervousness, trouble sleeping, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're physician or healthcare professional.
Dihistine Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this med causes you to feel drowsy. cash this product's ingredient list since phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult you're doctor promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this product should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Dihistine medication interactions: Tell you're doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (e.g., selegiline, linezolid, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. do not start or stop any medicine with-out physician or physician approval.
Dihistine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Dihistine special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Dihistine dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Dihistine Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
