Tropicamide Usage: this tablet is used to dilate eye for eye exams, or to treat certain eye conditions.
How to use Tropicamide: this medication is for use in eye. One or two drops are placed in eyes 15 minutes or so prior to examination. Additional drops may be necessary to achieve desired effect for an eye examination. When used to treat eye conditions, use as directed by your prescriber for full course of treatment. After application of the drops, apply pressure to the side of nose where the tear duct is with your finger for 1 to 3 minutes to prevent absorption into the body.
Tropicamide side effects: this medication may temporarily sting or burn your eye for minute when first applied. If this continues or becomes bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable for some minutes after applying eye drops. Because this drug dilates the eye, your eyes will be sensitive to light. Wear sun glasses and avoid bright lights until effect is over. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: skin rash, eye pain, swelling in or around eyes, vision problems. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're healthcare professional or healthcare professional.
Tropicamide Precautions: Tell you're healthcare professional if you have: glaucoma, another illnesses, any allergies. this drug should be used cautiously in the elderly. this medication should be used with caution during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss risks & benefits with youre pharmacist.
Tropicamide drug interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you use, including: other eye medicine. do not start or stop any medicine with-out physician or physician approval.
Tropicamide Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. it medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Tropicamide special notes: effect of it drug is greatest within about 30 minutes after application. it may take few hours for effects to totally disappear.
If you missed Tropicamide dose: it drug isnot for routine use.
Tropicamide Storage: Close container tightly after each use. Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not refrigerate. Discard this if the solution turns brown, cloudy or contains particles.
