    Guaifenesin - oral

    (gweye-fen-eh-sin)

    common brand names: Guiatuss, Organidin NR, Robitussin

    Cough Caps Usage: this pill is used to relieve dry cough & helps to loosen phlegm & mucous in lungs so you can 'cough-up' (expectorate) mucous.

    How to use Cough Caps: Take each dose of this drug with full glass about water. Water will also help break-up the mucous and clear congestion. Drink plenty about fluids while taking this med, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. do not take it drug for chronic, persistent cough such as occurs with smoking or asthma unless directed by your pharmacist. If cough lasts for more than one week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a fever, headache or rash, consult some your doctor.

    Cough Caps side effects: it pill can cause stomach upset or rash. If these effects persist or worsen, inform your physician. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or physician.

    Cough Caps Precautions: If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor before using this medication: breathing problems such as emphysema/chronic bronchitis/asthma, smoking, any allergies. it medication must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with you're pharmacist. It's not known if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.

    Cough Caps drug interactions: Tell your doctor of all medicines you may use, (both prescription & nonprescription), especially: another cough-and-cold medicines. Guaifenesin may affect results about certain lab tests. Be sure you're caregivers are aware you use this medicine before lab tests are performed. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or healthcare professional approval.

    Cough Caps Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, & unusually slow heartbeat.

    Cough Caps special notes: this medication comes in variety about dose forms such as meds, capsules, long acting tablets or capsules and a syrup. Ask your healthcare professional or pharmacist to recommend best product for you.

    If you missed Cough Caps dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if Its almost time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.

    Cough Caps Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in the bathroom. don't freeze liquid forms of this medication. do not store syrup in the refrigerator.
