    Vancomycin - oral solution

    Vancocin HCL Usage: this medication is an antibiotic used to treat infections.

    How to use Vancocin HCL: Take this med by mouth as directed usually three to four times day for 7 to 10 days. dose about oral solution may be diluted in 1 ounce of water to improve the taste. for best results, take each dose at evenly spaced intervals around the clock. it will ensure constant level of pill in your blood. Take this pill for full time prescribed. do not stop taking this without youre doctor's approval. Stopping therapy too soon may result in reinfection.

    Vancocin HCL side effects: Indigestion or stomach ache may occur. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre pharmacist. Notify your physician if you develop: difficulty hearing, fever, chills. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Vancocin HCL Precautions: Tell your physician youre medical history, especially of: kidney disease, stomach or intestinal problems, hearing problems, allergies you may have. Vancomycin should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. this drug is excreted into breast milk. Because the effects on nursing infant not known consult youre healthcare professional before you breast feed.

    Vancocin HCL drug interactions: Tell your doctor about all prescription & nonprescription medications you may use, including: aminoglycosides (e.g., gentamicin, neomycin), amphotericin B, other antibiotics, live vaccines. If you will be undergoing treatment requiring anesthesia, tell the doctor/dentist you have been using vancomycin do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.

    Vancocin HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

    Vancocin HCL special notes: this medication has been prescribed for some your current condition only. don't use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. different pill may be necessary in those cases.

    If you missed Vancocin HCL dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if it is near time since next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.

    Vancocin HCL Storage: Store this medication in the refrigerator. Discard any unused drug after 14 days.
