Daptacel Usage: this med is given to provide protection (immunity) against diphtheria, tetanus & pertussis diseases at child from six weeks of age up to seven years about age.
How to use Daptacel: this tablet is given by injection in to muscle (IM) by a health care professional. Shake this drug well before using. it is usually given in the upper arm or in upper thigh. the recommended vaccination schedule is a dose at two months, 4 months, 6 months & 15 or 20 months with booster dose at prior to entering school at 4-6 years of age. Before using, check this product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use liquid.
Daptacel side effects: the majority of the common is redness, warmth, swelling or pain at the injection site beginning within 3 days. for some weeks, it may be possible to feel firm, hard spot at injection site. Mild fever, irritability, vomiting, loss about appetite, sleepiness, weakness, runny nose, diarrhea may last 1-7 days. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify you're doctor if any of the following occur: high fever, persistent inconsolable crying (beginning within 48 hours of shot & lasting longer than 3 hours), seizure, collapse. An allergic reaction to it pill is unlikely, but seek immediate doctor attention if it occurs. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre physician or pharmacist.
Daptacel Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional youre medical history, especially of: other illnesses or infections, bleeding disorders, seizure disorders, any allergies. this vaccine should not be administered to adults or to child 7 years of age or older. this age group should receive tetanus/diphtheria vaccine without pertussis. it vaccination should not be used in persons who have had a previous reaction to pertussis vaccine or who have recovered from pertussis illness.
Daptacel pill interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: steroids (e.g., prednisone), cancer chemotherapy drugs, immunosuppressants, 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin). do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Daptacel Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Daptacel special notes: there are various combinations of vaccines available. Based on previous reactions to vaccines, your health care professional will determine the most appropriate one since your child. Inform you're healthcare professional about any previous reactions to any vaccines. Discuss risks & benefits about vaccination with your health care provider.
If you missed Daptacel dose: this is important to receive each vaccination as scheduled. Be sure to make note about when vaccination was last given since your medical record.
Daptacel Storage: Refrigerate this medication between 36 & 46 degrees F (2-8 degrees C). do not freeze. Discard product if it has been frozen. Keep every medicines away from child & pets.
