Protuss DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination med is used to treat cough & relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Protuss DM: this medication is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets and capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because long action will be destroyed & the chance about side effects will be increased. Take this pill as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed.
Protuss DM side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your healthcare professional. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or healthcare professional.
Protuss DM Precautions: Tell you're healthcare professional your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any drug allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your physician promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. it drug may be excreted in to breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Protuss DM medication interactions: Tell you're pharmacist about all prescription & nonprescription meds you use, especially: medication for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it medication. do not start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or physician approval.
Protuss DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change at behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or quick heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Protuss DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Protuss DM dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time since following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Protuss DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
