Otogesic Usage: Benzocaine is an anesthetic. Antipyrine is a pain reliever. Phenylephrine relieves congestion. this combination med is used to relieve pain, swelling & irritation in ear.
How to use Otogesic: since best effects, this drug must be used as directed. Apply ear drops to affected ears as follows: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch dropper or let it touch your ear. If the drug has been refrigerated, hold bottle in youre hand for a some minutes to warm it. If drops a suspension (not solution) shake well for 10 seconds before using. Lie on you're side or tilt affected ear up. Place dropper directly over ear and administer the prescribed number of drops. To help drops roll into ear, in adults, hold the earlobe up and back and at kid, hold the earlobe down & back. Keep the head tilted for minute & insert soft cotton plug loosely into ear. don't rinse the dropper.
Otogesic side effects: it medication may temporarily sting or burn your ear since minute or two when applied. If this continues or becomes bothersome, inform youre healthcare professional. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop: skin rash, itching/burning/redness in or around ears. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Otogesic Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: other infections, allergies (especially drug allergies). this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor.
Otogesic med interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Otogesic Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed. If you or someone you know may have taken it medicine by mouth, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Otogesic special notes: If condition for which this was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after few days, consult your pharmacist.
If you missed Otogesic dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Otogesic Storage: this may be stored in the refrigerator or at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. Discard this if the solution turns brown, cloudy or contains particles.
