Diflunisal Usage: this pill relieves pain & reduces inflammation. It's commonly used to treat pain, swelling and stiffness associated with arthritis.
How to use Diflunisal: Take with food or immediately after meals to prevent stomach upset. These pills should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them. for arthritis, it may take one to two weeks before full effects of this medicine noted. for best results in arthritis, this must be taken regularly, as directed by your physician.
Diflunisal side effects: Stomach upset, dizziness & drowsiness may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify you're pharmacist promptly. Inform your physician if you develop: black or bloody stools, edema (swelling about feet or hands), vision changes. Report these rarely occurring side effects promptly: ringing in the ears, hearing loss, dark urine, yellowing of eyes or skin, easy bruising. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it med, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Diflunisal Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially of: bleeding problems, liver problems, kidney problems, heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma, ulcers or other stomach problems, allergies (especially drug allergies). it medicine may cause stomach bleeding. per day use of alcohol, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. check with your doctor or pharmacist for more information. this medication is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age. Diflunisal should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with youre doctor. Diflunisal is excreted into breast milk. Though to date there have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult some your physician before breast-feeding.
Diflunisal drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist about all over-the-counter and prescription medications you use, especially of: 'blood thinners' (anticoagulants & antiplatelet drugs such as warfarin, heparins, another NSAIDs), antacids (regular use), cyclosporine, hydrochlorothiazide (a 'water pill'), methotrexate. do not take acetaminophen, NSAID (e.g., ibuprofen) or aspirin with-out 1st consulting your doctor or pharmacist. check labels of all your pills carefully. Ask your pharmacist if you uncertain your other medicines contain these pills. don't start or stop any medicine with out physician or doctor approval.
Diflunisal Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, confusion, ringing in the ears, rapid pulse, rapid breathing, sweating, stupor, and coma.
Diflunisal special notes: do not share this medication with others.
If you missed Diflunisal dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take if It's almost time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Diflunisal Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture.
